The banking landscape is shifting, and it's hitting customers hard! Lloyds and Halifax, two prominent UK banks, are closing down a staggering 108 branches across the country in 2026. This move comes as the digital age takes over, with more and more people opting for online and mobile banking.
But here's the catch: while the banks reassure customers of accessible services through apps and websites, there's growing concern for older and vulnerable individuals who rely on in-person banking. A spokesperson from Lloyds promises flexibility, stating, "...we're giving our customers the flexibility to bank wherever and whenever they need us."
